One-click Auto-Redact
Auto-Redact runs OCR over the capture, finds the sensitive strings, and covers each with a black box you can move, resize, or delete. It catches emails, vendor API keys and tokens, labeled passwords, and Luhn-valid card numbers — including ones a screenshot would otherwise expose in a title bar or a tab.
On by default
Privacy mode runs the scan the instant the editor opens, so a capture is covered before you can accidentally share it. Clear the redactions per capture, or turn the default off, in Settings — your call.
Blur, boxes, and full manual control
Beyond automatic redaction there's a mosaic blur and solid boxes you can draw anywhere, so faces, names, and anything the scanner can't know about get covered too.
Keep secrets off the internet entirely
Redaction is the last line — Shotcrisp also keeps notification banners, the Dock, and a never-capture app list out of your shots to begin with, and captures never leave your Mac unless you choose to share them.
